Welcome to KindleTales. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our kids bedtime story app and related services. KindleTales is built by the same parent company as VividAI; our approach to data and security is aligned with that foundation, adapted for a parent-managed, child-focused app.

1. Information we collect

a. Parent/guardian account information

We may collect: full name, email address, and (where applicable) phone number for the account holder. Payment-related information is processed through the App Store and Google Play (and any other payment provider we use); we do not store card numbers or UPI credentials.

b. Child profile information

Child profiles are created and managed by the parent or guardian. We may collect information you choose to add to a child profile (e.g. display name, age range, preferences) solely to personalize and deliver the service. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children; all child-related data is provided by the parent or guardian.

c. Device and usage data

We may collect log files for debugging, analytics, and performance (e.g. app usage, session duration, feature usage). This helps us improve the service and ensure it works correctly.

d. User-generated and app content

This may include favorites, library choices, and any optional family-recorded narration you upload. We use this only to provide and improve the service.

2. Story generation and AI features

a. AI-powered story generation (Magic Wand feature)

KindleTales includes a personalised story generation feature ("Magic Wand") that allows parents to create custom bedtime stories by entering a keyword or topic and selecting a voice. When this feature is used, the following information is transmitted to our own servers to generate a story:

• The keyword or topic entered by the parent or guardian
• The selected voice preference
• A session identifier used to return the generated story to the correct device

Story generation is performed entirely on infrastructure owned and operated by KindleTales using our own AI model. This data is not shared with any third-party AI service, cloud AI provider, or external model. No child profile name, account email, or payment information is included in story generation requests. Data is not retained beyond the time needed to generate and return the story.

b. Pre-produced audio and story content

The majority of stories in KindleTales are pre-produced and served as audio files from our own secure servers. Accessing these stories transmits only an anonymous request identifier — no personal data is included.

3. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, personalize, and improve the KindleTales app and stories
• Manage parent/guardian accounts and parent-managed child profiles
• Process subscriptions and payments via platform payment systems
• Fulfill legal and compliance obligations
• Improve performance, prevent misuse, and ensure safety
• Communicate with you and provide support

4. Data retention

• Payment records: Retained as required for financial and legal compliance.
• Account and profile data: Retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
• Logs: Retained for up to 180 days where applicable, in line with our company practices.

5. Children's privacy (parent-controlled)

KindleTales is designed for parent/guardian-managed child profiles. Parents or guardians create and control accounts and child profiles. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal data without your consent, please contact us and we will work to remove it.

6. Payments

Subscriptions and payments are handled through the App Store and Google Play (and any other payment provider we use). We do not store sensitive payment details such as card numbers or UPI credentials. For platform payment and privacy practices, please refer to the respective store policies.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls, secure transmission (e.g. SSL), and secure payment processing. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure; use of our service is at your discretion.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
